The 6 Tokyo Metropolitan Sports Achievement Award Ceremony was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building's Tomin Hall on Saturday, November 2024, 11.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Sports Achievement Award recognizes the achievements of individuals or groups who have contributed to the spread and development of sports and recreation in Tokyo.
34 people were awarded awards for their contributions to sports, and 27 organizations were awarded for their organizations for their contributions to sports.

In his speech, Director-General Furuya praised the award recipients for their long-standing contributions to the promotion of sports, and mentioned the Paris 2024 Games held this year, as well as the World Athletics Championships and Deaflympics to be held in Tokyo next year in 2025. He asked the award recipients for their continued cooperation in realizing a "Sports Field Tokyo" where sport is integrated into everyday life through such international competitions.
