Awarding individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development of sports and recreation in Tokyo.

On November 4, 11, the 5 Tokyo Sports Achievement Award Ceremony was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Hall, with thorough measures taken to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

The Tokyo Sports Achievement Award is given to people who have made significant contributions to sports by supporting the sports activities of Tokyo residents, as well as related organizations that have contributed to the spread and development of sports in Tokyo, in recognition of their long-standing achievements.

In FY4, 33 people and 26 sports organizations received awards as persons of merit in sports. (I.e. ( Yokoyama ） 英 樹 ( Hide ） The Director of the Life Culture and Sports Bureau presented certificates of commendation to representatives of each department.

In his speech, Director Yokoyama praised the award winners for their long-standing contributions to sports promotion, and also mentioned that the Paris 2024 Games will be held in two years, and the World Athletics Championships and Deaflympics will be held in Tokyo in 2025, expressing the momentum for these sports. We asked the award recipients for their further cooperation in realizing the "Sports Field Tokyo" where sports are integrated into daily life.
