Tokyo Honor Award/Tokyo Citizen Sports Award Award Ceremony (Vancouver Paralympics)

 The Tokyo Metropolitan Government presented the Tokyo Metropolitan Honor Award and the Tokyo Citizen Sports Award in recognition of the achievements of athletes living in Tokyo who played an active role in the Vancouver XNUMX Paralympic Winter Games and gave Tokyo residents bright dreams, hope, and vitality.
 The award ceremony was held on April XNUMX, XNUMX, and Yoshihiro Nitta, who won the gold medal in cross-country skiing, received the Tokyo Honor Award and the Tokyo Citizen Sports Award certificate, while Daiki Morii, who won the silver medal in alpine skiing, and others. Governor Ishihara handed each of the four participants a certificate of the Metropolitan Sports Award.

 Governor Ishihara offered his congratulatory address, saying, ``By overcoming physical handicaps and revealing the strength of the human mind and body, he inspired us as fellow human beings.''

 Upon receiving the award, Nitta said, ``I'm glad I was able to win a medal representing Japan.I want to do my best at the next Sochi Paralympics with this pride in my heart.''
