World Athletics and Deaflympics Vision 2025
A new field for sports
~Toward an inclusive Tokyo where everyone can shine~

The World Athletics Championships and the Deaflympics were held in Tokyo in 2025. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been using the energy of hosting these two international sporting events to pave the way for Tokyo's future through the power of sports. To this end, the government has compiled its vision for both events into "Vision 2025," indicating the direction of its efforts and promoting various initiatives with an eye toward the post-event legacy.

In January 2026, we created the Vision 2025 Legacy Book, which summarizes the results of our efforts to date and the legacy of both tournaments.

We will continue to connect the legacies of both tournaments to the future and accelerate our efforts to realize "Tokyo, an inclusive city where everyone can shine" through the power of sport.

Vision 2025 Legacy Book (January 2026)

This document summarizes the results of efforts made through the 2025 World Athletics and Deaflympics and the legacy that the two events have left behind.

Summary of various initiatives that have been promoted based on "Vision 2025" etc.

(Examples) Promoting universal communication using digital technology, children's participation in the tournament, sustainability initiatives, etc.
In order to ensure that the results of each initiative are passed on and developed even after the Games, the legacies of the two Games and the direction of future initiatives have been organized into three themes: "Children," "Inclusive Society," and "Future International Sporting Events."
In addition to the performance figures of each initiative and photos from the tournament, the site also features comments from those who helped create the tournament (players, tournament officials, children who participated in the initiatives, etc.), providing an easy-to-understand introduction to the results of the initiatives.
