It is an important legacy asset that should be preserved and managed over the long term and passed on to future generations.

Archive assets include physical assets such as medals and torch relays, and documentary assets such as records.In order to establish a framework to ensure the preservation and utilization of archive assets, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has established the ``Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Archive Asset Agreement'' (IOC, IPC, Tokyo 6 Organizing Committee, JOC, JPC, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government). (hereinafter referred to as the "Archive Agreement").

The archive agreement stipulates that the JOC is the organization (archive organization) that is responsible for the preservation, maintenance, and utilization of archive assets as the administrator of the archive assets. The role is to support the organization.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will appropriately preserve, manage, and utilize the archive assets in accordance with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Archive Asset Agreement, the Tokyo 2020 Archive Policy, and the Tokyo 2020 Archive Asset Utilization Policy.

Assets managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government based on the Archive Asset Agreement, etc. can be viewed online at the Tokyo 2020 Games Digital Archive.

The digital archive contains approximately 1,300 physical assets such as medals and torches from the torch relay, and approximately 4,000 publicly available documents that can be viewed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Library.

Some of the physical assets can be freely rotated 3 degrees using the 360D view.

Through digital archives, we will pass on the results and excitement of the tournament to future generations as a solid legacy.
