Junior high school female softball players from Tokyo, Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures were invited to participate in a softball exchange game in Fukushima Prefecture. The next day, they watched the Japan-U.S. Softball 2023 match, toured a renewable energy facility, and went peach picking.
This summer, we were affected by the intense heat every day, so we took special measures to counter the heat, such as providing extra water supply hours, and held exchange games.
I'd like to introduce you to what happened that day.
A softball exchange game was held at Fukushima Prefectural Azuma Baseball Stadium, where baseball and softball were played during the Tokyo 2020 Games. On the day of the game, the game was played amidst the decorations of the Japan-U.S. Softball 2023 competition, and the players played freely and had fun on their dream stage.

After the exchange game, a mix of players from each prefecture played the Catchball Classic, where mixed teams of players from each prefecture competed to see how many times they could catch the ball in two minutes.Although it was the first time for the players to play together, it was impressive to see them actively communicating with each other and having fun. After the Catch Ball Classic, all teams naturally gathered together and began to take commemorative photos, deepening interactions.

On the second day, they watched the 2 Japan-U.S. Softball Tournament held at Fukushima Prefectural Azuma Baseball Stadium, and their eyes lit up as they watched the Japanese and U.S. national team players play.In the match, the Japanese team won 2023-2020, with strong pitches from Goto Nozomi and Yukiko Ueno, who contributed to winning the gold medal at the Tokyo 6 Olympics. After the match, they posed for a commemorative photo with their favorite Japanese and U.S. national team athletes in hopes of returning to competition at the Los Angeles 1 Olympics.

In "Learning about Fukushima Prefecture," we visited Fukushima Saiene Park (renewable energy related facility).Fukushima Saiene Park is equipped with a solar power generation facility and a mobile hydrogen station, along with an educational facility, and the players listened intently to the facility's explanation while taking notes.
Fukushima Prefecture's basic philosophy for recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear disaster is ``creating a safe, secure, and sustainable society that does not rely on nuclear power,'' and is committed to ``expanding the introduction of renewable energy'' and ``renewable energy sources.'' The prefecture is promoting the acceleration of reconstruction and the creation of a sustainable society based on the pillars of clustering energy-related industries, building a sustainable energy society, and realizing a hydrogen society, and the players are participating in initiatives related to renewable energy. I was able to learn.

We experienced peach picking at an orchard in Fukushima City.I picked a sweet and delicious Akatsuki peach from Fukushima, the fruit kingdom, with my own hands and enjoyed its deliciousness.
