"Reiwa 4th Disaster Area Exchange Project through Sports (Fukushima Prefecture) - Softball Friendly Match 2022 in Fukushima" was held!

High school women's softball teams from Tokyo, Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures were invited to Fukushima Prefecture for an exchange game at Fukushima Prefectural Azuma Stadium.In conjunction with this event, we held events such as watching the Japan-U.S. softball game, picking peaches, and learning about the earthquake disaster.
In implementing the project, we took thorough measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.I'd like to introduce you to what happened that day.

Softball exchange game

An exchange game was held at Fukushima Prefectural Azuma Baseball Stadium, where baseball and softball were played during the Tokyo 2020 Games.On the day of the event, the field was set up for the Japan-U.S. softball game, and the players played lively in that atmosphere.

We visited the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum and the Namie Town Ukedo Elementary School, which houses the remains of the earthquake.They listened to a lecture by an earthquake disaster storyteller and toured an exhibit of materials related to the time of the disaster and evacuation life, deepening their understanding of this unprecedented complex disaster.Comments from the students included, ``By actually observing, I was able to learn about fear again,'' ``I want to connect this to what I learned in the future,'' and ``I felt like I had to pass this on to the next generation.'' was asked.
