Overview

By utilizing digital technology, we will provide an opportunity for people with disabilities who have difficulty going out to take part in sports activities remotely using telepresence robots (avatar robots) from the comfort of their own homes, such as social welfare facilities or medical facilities.
　This year, we will be offering opportunities to watch and interact with visitors at the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, as well as experience sports at the Parasports Memorial Event (tentative name) venue and interact with visitors.

This project provides an opportunity for people with severe disabilities who have difficulty going outside to use avatar robots to remotely participate in parasports experience classes and events hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and local municipalities. The avatar robot will be placed at the event venue, and two tablets for operating the robot will be loaned to the welfare facility. By operating the tablet, participants can move the robot's arms and neck, and converse with people at the venue. Participants will remotely operate the robot at the venue and take part in sports activities.

Target

People with disabilities who have difficulty going out

• Applications will be accepted on a facility-by-facility basis. (facility admission support, living care, etc.)
• Two tablets will be provided so multiple people can participate.
• The type of disability does not matter.

Regarding recruitment of target facilities
Application period: June 6th (Friday) to July 13th (Friday) (must arrive)

We are looking for facilities that would like to use alter ego robots for the following sporting events and participate remotely in sporting activities.
