On Tuesday, February 2,700, XNUMX (National Holiday), the participatory parasports event "Challenge Sports! TOKYO" was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. This year's theme was "Let's enjoy parasports together, whether you have a disability or not! Let's get moving! Beyond the excitement!" Under this theme, various sports experiences including Paralympic sports and stage programs were held. The weather was good on the day, and about XNUMX people attended.
You can also see details of the event on the event website.
February 7, 2 (Tuesday/Holiday) 11:10~00:17
Competition experience/exhibition
Stage programs (parasports quiz competition, Paris 2024 Paralympic Games awards ceremony, medalist talk show, stage performance by a dance performance team including people with disabilities, talk show by deaf athletes, etc.)
Manami Tanaka (wheelchair tennis player), Taketo Kato (blind football player), Rin Kawahara (wheelchair basketball player), Monica Seryu (paracanoe player)
Naohiro Ishikawa (former Japanese national soccer team member), Akiyo Noguchi (professional free climber), Pekopa (comedian), Koniwa (comedian)
We exhibited 13 sports experience booths where people with and without disabilities could enjoy themselves, including Paralympic sports such as wheelchair basketball, table tennis, and boccia, as well as balloon volleyball, flying disc, and e-sports.
It was an opportunity for many people to have fun, and we received comments such as, "I got to enjoy parasports that I normally can't do," "I was happy to get to try out sports that I didn't think I would be able to do," and "It was great that children with and without disabilities could enjoy it together."

On stage, there were events that allowed participants to learn more about the appeal of parasports together with para-athletes, including an awards ceremony and talk show featuring medalists from the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and a "Para-Sports Trilogy" between athletes and comedians.
In addition, the "MEKIMEKI Gymnastics" and dance performances were fun and made people want to join in, and a talk show by deaf athletes gave people the opportunity to learn about the appeal of deaf sports and how to support them, as well as feel the excitement of the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics.

At the Tokyo Para Sports Association booth for individual consultations, people with disabilities and their families came to enquire about starting sports and what type of sports would suit them, and were even seen touring the experience booths with parasports advisors.
There was also a "Para x Technology Experience Exhibition" which introduced simulation content that allowed people to experience what it is like to be unable to hear or have difficulty hearing, and devices that allow visually impaired people to understand information about their surroundings through changes in sound and vibration. There were also exhibition booths from various organizations, a photo exhibition of the Paris 2024 Paralympics, a trick art corner, and sales booths by vocational facilities.

With the support of many cooperating organizations, including sports associations, and over 100 volunteers, ChaleSport! TOKYO was able to finish this year without a hitch. Thank you very much.
We look forward to seeing you at another parasports event.
