Introducing the Reiwa 7th “Charespo! TOKYO” event!

December 2026, 2

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, the participatory parasports event "Challenge Sports! Tokyo" was held at Toyo University's Akabanedai Campus.
The theme of this year's event, which marked the 14th anniversary of the event, was "Encountering parasports for people with and without disabilities! You're sure to find a gateway to falling in love with them!", and under this theme, various sporting experiences and stage programs were held, including Paralympic and Deaflympics sports. The weather was fine on the day, and we were able to welcome a large crowd of approximately 1,500 people.
You can also see details of the event on the event website.

Exhibition Booths and Displays

The "Evolving Para x Technology Exhibition" introduced technologies that support the daily lives of people with disabilities, such as digital devices and supportive bikes, and various organizations related to parasports also had exhibition booths.
Additionally, the Tokyo Metropolitan Sports Association for the Disabled provided a variety of information on parasports and also offered individual consultations with parasports advisors. A wide range of inquiries were received from people with disabilities and their families, including questions about what to do specifically to start playing sports and whether there are places outside of school where they can exercise. The advisors offered solutions tailored to each person's situation, providing an opportunity to support them in taking up sports.
