Changing rooms with narrow entrances may not be accessible to wheelchair users. Also, some people don't know which of the many lockers they should use.Especially when using the locker for the first time, please have the staff explain the location and how to use the locker.

  • If you are physically disabled (standing), you may not be able to put on your shoes unless you sit on a chair. Also, since many people get tired easily, it is a good idea to provide chairs etc. in the changing rooms.

The caregiver is of the opposite sexin the case of:
"Changing rooms are not available" etc.
  • If the caregiver is of the opposite sex, it would be convenient to have rooms such as a ``family changing room,'' ``opposite-sex caregiver changing room,'' or ``care room.''Even if you are unable to prepare the equipment, you can still use a temporary changing room by partitioning off a corner of an empty meeting room, office, or lobby with a screen.

Ideas at the facility

A bench has been installed where you can sit and change your clothes.

Some people have disabilities that prevent them from putting on their shoes without sitting down.Additionally, people with internal disabilities get tired easily and may not be able to change clothes while standing.

Priority access to changing rooms

People with disabilities may change clothes more slowly or need more space than people without disabilities. Also, if the caregiver is of the opposite sex, they will not be allowed in the changing room.If you have space, set up a priority changing room. Also, please post a notice at the entrance to the changing room so that users do not get lost.

●[Musashino City General Gymnasium]
While the general changing rooms are on the second floor, changing rooms for people with disabilities (men and women) are located on the first floor. In addition, we have set up a separate changing room near the pool, which can be used preferentially by people with disabilities, the elderly, and people with assistance from the opposite sex.

●[Katsushika City General Sports Center Heated Pool Building]
There is a large multipurpose changing room that can accommodate up to 3 groups at the same time.

●[Fussa City Kumagawa Regional Gymnasium]
If you require assistance from a member of the opposite sex, please use the multipurpose restroom or a vacant room.

Information on where assistance of the opposite sex is available is posted at the locker room entrance.

Even if you need a family changing room or a large wheelchair-accessible changing room, there may not be one available. In that case, consider turning part of your office or lobby into a temporary changing room.

Vertical lockers prioritize assistive device users

If you are wearing a lower limb assistive device, it cannot be stored in a regular size locker. If you have a vertical locker, make sure that it is reserved for people using assistive devices or that they have priority access.

●[Higashikurume City Sports Center]
The vertical lockers are equipped with handles to make them easy to open and close, even for people with limited mobility.
