Read aloud

Icon: ReceptionReceptionist ~Inventions that allow all users, including people with disabilities, to use the site comfortably~

The reception area is where customers first enter. If the reception process goes smoothly, it will be easier to use the service in the future, so initial response is important.

If you know someone who is having trouble, please give them a call.If you are a person with a disability, it will be easier to respond if you can confirm what kind of disability they have and what the problem is when you call them.

Ideas at the facility

Install a cane holder on the counter

If you are visually impaired or physically disabled and use a cane, you will need to prop it up when filling out forms, etc.

It is convenient to have a cane rack or cane rest on the reception table. It is not a special item, and you can use equipment like an umbrella stand instead.

A walking stick rest is installed on the reception table. In addition, stickers with illustrations are attached for easy visual understanding.

Prepare a shoehorn

If you have a shoehorn at the reception desk, changing room, or other places where you put on and take off your shoes, you can safely put them on without having to bend over.

Substitute with a small whiteboard

We sometimes use writing boards to communicate with people who are hearing impaired or mentally disabled.

If you don't have a dedicated writing board, you can use a whiteboard.

Be careful when opening and closing the door

There are many areas within the facility, such as gymnasium entrances and pool entrances, that do not have automatic doors. On the other hand, some people with physical disabilities have difficulty opening and closing doors.

●[Musashino City General Gymnasium]
The entrance to the pool is not an automatic door, so if someone in a wheelchair wants to enter, the staff will help open and close the door.

Prepare buckets, rags, and chairs for cleaning.

For items that are difficult to put on and take off, such as wheelchairs, prosthetic legs, and assistive devices, there are many facilities that will allow you to use them without treating them as shoes if you clean the tires and soles of your shoes.

Set up buckets, rags, chairs, etc. at the entrance to encourage people to clean tires and lower limb orthotics.

●[Saitama Prefecture Disabled Persons Exchange Center]
Chairs, buckets, and rags are available at the entrance.

Low table that can be used while in a wheelchair

If the reception counter is high, wheelchair users may not be able to reach it.

●[Machida City Athletics Stadium]
The reception counter is high, so lower tables are available nearby. For events such as competitions, some users change to a racer (competitive wheelchair) and then use the tables to fill out paperwork.
