National Sports Festival (National Sports Festival)
The National Sports Festival is the largest national sports festival in Japan. We will widely popularize sports among the people, raise the sports spirit, improve the health and physical strength of the people, and at the same time, contribute to the promotion of local sports and the development of local culture, and brighten and enrich the lives of the people. The event is held as one of the important events stipulated in the country's Basic Sports Act.
Starting with the 2024th competition in 78, the National Sports Festival will be renamed the National Sports Festival (abbreviation: National Sports Festival).
The 79th National Sports Festival in 2025 was held with the Winter Games taking place in Okayama, Gunma, and Akita prefectures, and the main Games in Shiga prefecture.
