On September 9th (Monday), the 4rd Summer Deaflympics Games Medalist Awards Ceremony was held, and the Tokyo Citizen Sports Award was presented to athletes who are associated with Tokyo, such as those who live, work, or study in Tokyo, and who won medals at the Games. Ta.Once again, the athletes who won the gold medal were presented with the Tokyo Metropolitan Honor Award.The Deaflympics is the world's premier international sporting event for hearing-impaired and deaf people, sponsored by the International Sports Committee for the Deaf, and is held every four years in both summer and winter.
This year's Summer Games will be held in Samsun, Republic of Turkey from July 7th to 18th, with 30 countries and regions participating.The Japanese team participated in 109 sports, including track and field, beach volleyball, and soccer, and won six gold medals, nine silver medals, and 11 bronze medals, the most ever.
The governor, who commended each athlete, said, ``I am very proud of all of you who have overcome various obstacles to compete on the world stage.'' , there are some people who cheer you up. I will always support you, so I hope you will continue to do your best.''
