The Tokyo Metropolitan Team Establishment Ceremony for the 24th National Sports Games for the Disabled was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Main Conference Hall on Sunday, October 5th.

The Tokyo team formation ceremony for the 24th National Sports Tournament for the Disabled, "Wata-SHIGA Kagayaku Shouspo," was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Main Conference Hall on Sunday, October 5th, with 300 athletes and officials in attendance.

Greetings from the leader

A speech was given by Katsura Enyo, Chairman of the Tokyo Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities (a public interest incorporated association) and head of the delegation.

We would like to congratulate all the athletes on representing Tokyo at the 24th National Sports Tournament for the Disabled, "Wata-SHIGA Shining Disability Sports."
This year's Tokyo delegation consists of 231 athletes and 111 officials, totaling 342 people. Standing here, I can truly feel the passion of all the athletes as they prepare for the Games.
I sincerely hope that you will do your best in this tournament and achieve good results as a representative. At the same time, I hope that you will deepen your interactions with athletes from all over the country through competition, make new friends, and experience the joy of playing sports together.
There are about two weeks left until the tournament. Please take good care of your health so that you can fully demonstrate the results of your daily practice during the actual competition. I also hope that the players will cooperate and encourage each other during the tournament so that we can all achieve great results.

Awarding of the team flag

The team flag was presented by Tokyo Metropolitan Government Sports Promotion Headquarters Director Watanabe to Team Leader Nobuyo, who then presented it to Kanaga (athletics/physical disability), who will be the flag bearer for this tournament.

At this year's National Sports Tournament for the Disabled, I hope that you will play to the best of your ability, with pride and awareness as representatives of Tokyo. I also hope that the athletes will use their participation in the tournament as an opportunity to broaden the stage for their achievements, compete with athletes from all over the country, deepen their relationships, and further enrich their competitive lives.
