Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games: Two events to be held in Tokyo!

1. Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games

The Asian Games is the largest sports festival in Asia, held every four years. Japan hosted the 3rd Asian Games in Tokyo in 1958, and the 12th Asian Games in Hiroshima in 1994. The 20th Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya in 2026, marking the first time in 32 years.

  • Tournament dates: Saturday, September 19th to Sunday, October 4th, 2026 (16 days)
  • Events: 41 events
  • Number of participating countries: 45 Asian countries and regions
  • Delegations (athletes and team officials): up to 15,000 people

2. Two events will be held in Tokyo!

In Tokyo, two events, swimming (competitive swimming and diving) and equestrian, will be held on the following dates.
Please come and visit the venue!

3. Advance ticket sales announcement

Advance tickets will be available to everyone. Don't miss this opportunity!

  • Sales schedule: March 12th (Thu) 17:00 - March 31st (Tue) 23:59

Please note that after the pre-sale period ends, general sales are scheduled to begin around June.

4. Invitation to children to watch the games (lottery system)

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is planning to invite children to watch the games at venues within the city.

  • Eligible participants: Tokyo residents aged 6-18, or elementary, junior high, and high school students attending school in Tokyo, and their companions (aged 19 and over)
  • Eligible sports: Swimming (competitive swimming, diving), equestrian
  • Eligible sessions: Sessions held on dates and times that do not overlap with school hours
    • Swimming Preliminaries (starting at 10:9): September 20th (Sun) - 23rd (Wednesday, national holiday)
    • Swimming Finals (starting at 17:9 PM): September 20th (Sun) - 25th (Fri)
    • Diving (all day): September 26th (Sat), 27th (Sun)
    • Equestrian (all day): 9/21 (Monday/Holiday) - 23rd (Wednesday/Holiday), 26th (Sat), 27th (Sunday),
      October 3rd (Sat), 4th (Sun)
  • Recruitment method: Lottery system
  • Price: Free for children, discounted price for accompanying persons
