"The 44th Community Sports Central Tournament"
~Shinjuku Ward~

December 25 2025

"We received a comment from Shinjuku Ward in regards to the 44th Community Sports Central Tournament."

The Shinjuku Ward Community Sports Central Tournament, held every December, is a historic tournament that celebrated its 12rd anniversary last year.

Shinjuku Ward is divided into 10 administrative districts, including Yotsuya, Ochiai, and Totsuka, and each district will hold its own regional tournament from October to November.

The four events held are "Beach Ball Volleyball", "Unicurl", "Quoits" and "Boccia", and the top winners of each event can participate in the central tournament. Last year, a total of 1547 people participated, from elementary school students to seniors.

This tournament is planned and run by Shinjuku Ward's Youth Activities Promotion Committee and Sports Promotion Committee, which form executive committees from each district.

In particular, the Sports Promotion Committee members, who referee all competitions at regional and national tournaments, hold referee seminars every September to improve refereeing skills and increase the fairness of refereeing.

We would like to continue to promote exercise opportunities and interaction for local residents by continually looking for new participants and reviewing the events we offer.

As the business division manager, I am in charge of the overall planning and running of the tournament, and I am working to find a venue and time that is convenient for all participants.
