We would like to inform you that it has been decided that the IBSA Judo Grand Prix Tournament, the world championship for visually impaired judo, will be held in Tokyo in 2023.This tournament was sponsored by the Japan Visually Impaired Judo Federation, a non-profit organization, and is positioned as the next tournament after the Paralympic Games and the World Championships, and will be the first to be held in East Asia.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is supporting the hosting of this event through the FY4 International Sports Tournament Attraction and Hosting Support Project.

Date: December 2023th (Monday) and December 12th (Tuesday), 4
Venue: Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium
Number of participating countries: Approximately 35 countries expected
Features: Tournaments eligible for ranking points for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Judo Competition
Jointly held with the Judo Grand Slam Tokyo Tournament sponsored by IJF (International Judo Federation)

This is a system that supports expenses related to activities to attract and hold tournaments, in order to increase opportunities to hold top-level sports tournaments, promote sports in Tokyo, and improve the city's presence.
