　In this tournament, the 14.87km course within the city is divided into 6 sections, and approximately 130 teams in total will compete, including approximately 10 teams made up of citizens and approximately 140 teams including special participants such as the sister city Sakaemura team in Nagano Prefecture and the Yokota Air Base team. At the time, there was a boys' and girls' soccer tournament sponsored by the Board of Education, and since there was no one with experience as a referee, I was asked to referee.At that time, she learned about the work of a sports promotion committee and started working as a sports promotion committee.

What kind of activities do you usually do as a sports promotion committee member?

As a sports promotion committee member, I am involved in the management of citizen relay races, walking events, sports events for boys and girls (soccer, dodgeball, etc.), and sports classes for people with physical and mental disabilities.
In addition, we operate two classrooms (Kubbu classroom and stretching classroom) as staff at a comprehensive regional sports club.

Mr. Kawashima, what do you feel is the appeal and reward of being a sports promotion committee member while working as a sports promotion committee member?

I enjoy meeting a variety of people through the sports business.

Please tell us about what you are putting effort into and what you are trying to do to hold the Musashimurayama Citizens Ekiden Race Tournament, and how you are involved as a sports promotion committee member.

To hold the event, we are collaborating with the government to set the course, change the cheering location, improve last year's problems, and efficiently allocate personnel.
