The event began with a wonderful performance by the local elementary school's drum and flute corps parade, and a large number of participants performed Mitaka exercises.
At ``Hiromichi Onii-san's Gymnastics Class'', 238 pairs of parents and children participated, imitating familiar objects such as animals and vehicles, running, jumping, and rolling while interacting with each other and moving their bodies.
Figure skater Mr. Mura was a guest at the ``Sports Ability Test'' and excited the participants by demonstrating his jumping skills.Also, in the square where you can experience horseback riding, you can interact with ponies.
Mr. Akimoto, a judoka, was a guest at the ``Sports Proficiency Meeting'' along with Mr. Mura, cheering on the participants who were working hard.She also tried various sports, including the para-sport Boccia.
In the afternoon, about 10 different sports were held in the main arena, including table tennis volleyball, para balloon, and plastic bottle line kubb.
In the wheelchair basketball experience area, participants formed improvised teams, practiced, and then played games, which were exciting even for beginners.
The light gymnastics room was equipped with equipment that allowed students to experience bouldering, and many children enjoyed themselves while being taught by instructors.
The multipurpose gymnastics room has a sumo ring, and fitness events that incorporate sumo movements and events where you can interact with sumo wrestlers were held.
In the outside plaza, you could try rugby, horseback riding, old games, and new sports.In the rugby area, we were able to enjoy lift-up and tag rugby with the support of local rugby experienced players, including high school rugby players.
The event was run by the executive committee members of the Mitaka City Sports Promotion Committee, together with a large number of volunteer staff, and enlivened the event throughout Mitaka City.

First of all, Mr. Okada, please tell us why you became a sports promotion committee member.
I started playing volleyball at the recommendation of a senior who played mama-san volleyball.
Up until then, I had never known anything about the Physical Education Committee (currently the Sports Promotion Committee), and when I started working there, I was surprised at how many meetings and busy schedules I had, but I am enjoying the activities with my friends.
What kind of activities do you usually do as a sports promotion committee member?
As the chairman of the Mitaka City Sports Promotion Committee, I convene meetings and support the activities of the entire council.It plays a central role in Mitaka City's sports projects, the Mitaka Citizens' Ekiden Tournament and Mitaka Sports Festival.
In addition to council-sponsored projects such as holding citizen walking events (twice a year) and sports projects, I am in charge of a new sports experience corner at an international exchange festival, and I am an auditor at a local sports club, attending monthly meetings. I'm attending.
Mr. Okada, during your time as a sports promotion committee member, what do you feel is the appeal and reward of being a sports promotion committee member?
We designed the content so that even people who are not good at sports can get involved, and as a result of the instruction and experience, we received smiles from the participants, saying, ``It was interesting,'' ``It was fun,'' and ``I'll come again.'' I think I have grown because of the joy I felt when I was there.
I have been moved by the activities of the Sports Promotion Committee many times, and I am fascinated by the sense of accomplishment that comes from being a Sports Promotion Committee member.
Well, the "10 Mitaka Sports Festival" was held on October 7th. Please tell us about the efforts you put into holding it, what was difficult, and what left an impression on you.
The executive committee (44 people), including the Mitaka City Sports Promotion Committee, was in charge, and I served as the executive committee chair.
With the aim of using the sports festival as an opportunity for Mitaka citizens to become interested in sports and make sports a part of their daily lives, we created a program together with everyone who supports sports in Mitaka City, and worked with approximately 400 staff members on the day. , I was in charge of the operation.
The sports promotion committee, which has the ability to respond flexibly, played a key role, provided accurate instructions to the staff, and was considerate to the visitors, making the event a success.
The weather was good on the day, and more than 2 participants enjoyed a variety of sports. I heard many people say, ``Parents and children had a fun day together.''Many children especially enjoyed the tug-of-war performance by the sumo wrestlers.We, the sports promotion committee members, were filled with happiness as we watched the parents and grandparents happily taking pictures.
Although I was physically tired, I felt a sense of accomplishment.
It was an event where everyone from adults to children were able to experience a variety of sports and was filled with smiles.
